Washers play an important role in a bolted connection - they separate the bolts and nuts from the element that is connected with them, thus minimizing the risk of loosening and unscrewing the connection. Metal washers are also used to increase the pressure surface on the joined material, which significantly reduces the possibility of damage to the joined elements. Washers are used in many different industries: primarily in the construction industry, but also in the automotive, furniture, industrial and electronic industries in the production of devices or machines.
Steel washers in the standard approach are made of carbon steel with a raw coating. They can be additionally covered with galvanic (zn), hot-dip (TZN) or flake zinc (dacromet, geomet), which increases their resistance to adverse weather conditions. For more extreme conditions, we recommend washers made of A2 stainless steel and A4 acid-resistant steel. In addition, we also offer washers made of plastics (polyamide, nylon, polyethylene), which are particularly durable in structures exposed to contact with water, and washers made of non-ferrous metals, e.g. of brass, copper or aluminum.
In general terms, steel washers are divided into:
- flat - used to protect elements from scratching or crushing when tightening the screw,
- protecting against unscrewing - resistant to strong vibrations,
- leveling - used to level the inclination of the connected element.
The most common steel washers are the classic DIN 125 flat round washers. We also offer them in the enlarged version DIN 9021 or 440, coarse DIN 126 and thick DIN 7349. We also recommend spring washers DIN 127, which are divided into spiral, serrated , conical, arched, wavy and fan-shaped.
Among the popular types of washers, we can also distinguish DIN 434 and DIN 435 wedge washers, which are used in the assembly of channels and I-sections. We also offer so-called deflected washers, with a nose placed inside or outside, which can be in the form of one-lobe (DIN 93) or two-lobe (DIN 463). Our permanent offer also includes two-hole washers PN 82012, washers for pins DIN 1440 and square washers for wooden structures DIN 436.
In our rich assortment you can also find less common washers, e.g. DIN 988 spacers, which are used during assembly works, e.g. when glazing wooden windows. In addition, we have Schnorr washers and Nord-Lock washers, used when traditionally used washers fail or do not fully fulfill their role.
