Screws

Screws are safe, but at the same time economical and easy to install fasteners. Unlike bolts, screws do not need a nut to properly secure a threaded connection. Their threads are usually not standardized - depending on the application, they can have any pitch.

Our offer includes wood screws, sheet metal screws (for metal) and screws with metric thread, which according to the new standards are now called screws. Screws can be made of carbon steel (raw coating, phosphatized or galvanized), A2 stainless steel or A4 acid-resistant steel, as well as non-ferrous metals (brass, aluminum) and plastic (polyamide, nylon).

Screws in the standard approach have a head that can have the following shape:

  • cylindrical,
  • pan head,
  • conical flat,
  • countersunk pan head,
  • spherical,
  • hexagonal,
  • washer head.

The socket in the screw head is also differentiated. The most common ones include:

  • slotted,
  • cross (phillips, pozidrive),
  • square,
  • allen,
  • octagonal,
  • star (torx).

However, Normazet's assortment also includes headless screws, i.e. grub screws, which, according to the new ISO standards, are marked as headless screws. They are most often used in the production of machines in connections where the fastener cannot have a head and the assembly is in a place that is difficult to access.

Self-drilling screws are also very popular in our offer, which we especially recommend for steel structures due to the fact that these screws are equipped with a drill. For the installation or repair of the roof, we recommend farmer screws with different drill bit lengths (depending on the profile thickness), which effectively fasten profiled sheets to wooden structures.

Self-forming screws and self-tapping screws are very practical and economical to use. They are used especially in structures exposed to a particular impact of dynamic and thermal loads. Thanks to the precisely fitting and backlash-free thread, these screws are resistant to self-unscrewing.
