Thumb screws, also known as wing screws, are ergonomic, thanks to which they have a very wide range of applications. They can be found, for example, in photographic tripods, telescopic rails, inspection covers or exhibition walls. They are used primarily as protection of elements in devices against excessive tightening and in machines that require adjustment.
Most often, DIN 316 screws work well where the frequency of loosening or tightening makes the use of tools impractical. They can be turned manually, without the use of a key, using the hand - thumb and index finger.
Screws that meet the PN 64 standard can be made of carbon steel (galvanized or raw), A2 stainless steel, A4 acid-resistant steel, brass and even plastic, but at the same time they have a metal thread. They come in sizes from M4 to M12 and lengths between 10 and 60 mm.
